Brad Stevenson was born in Ashtabula, Ohio in 1953. He learned an
appreciation for nature very early in life from his family. He
graduated from Bowling Green University in 1975 with a Bachelor of
Music degree. His plans to teach high school band were put on hold
to travel with various musical groups during the 1970’s.
Soon his deep-seated love of wood and forests compelled him to start
to build furniture and wooden art work. It seemed that every tree
held a secret beauty inside waiting to be enjoyed. His work evolved
over time to use more natural edges, burls and the most unique
grains to be found.
In 1978 he married his wife, Karen, and soon opened his studio
“Seven Hills Woodworking”. From 1983 to 1987 he was a partner in a
store in Madison, Ohio, called “The Village Art Works”. Since then
he has been selling his artwork at art shows in Ohio, Pennsylvania,
New York , Michigan, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, and the
Carolinas. He also has two fine sons, Eric and Todd, and lives on
Seven Hills Road in Ashtabula, Ohio.
